Our Mission Statement

Mercy In Action International's Christian/humanitarian approach to ministry is based in part on James 2:14-17

Dear brothers and sisters, what's the use of saying you have faith if you don't prove it by your actions?  That kind of faith can't save anyone.  Suppose you see a brother or sister who needs food or clothing, and you say, "Well, good-bye and God bless you; stay warm and eat well" -- but then you don't give that person any food or clothing.  What good does that do?  So you see, it isn't enough just to have faith.  Faith that doesn't show itself by good deeds is no faith at all -- it is dead and useless.  (NLT)

These scriptures talk about the practical harmony between our vertical faith in God and our human horizontal works to a needy world.  Faith, inevitably, calls us forward to action--to the works within faith.  I love the way God is continually opening unexpected doors in our lives and ministry that are always a win-win if, and when, we choose to move forward and walk through them.  When we do, God's kingdom here on earth is advanced and, at the same time, part of our individual God-given destines are made manifest.

Life is full of choices.  Do I step out on the water or do I stay in my comfortable little boat in familiar territory?  We miss huge blessings by declining God's offer to be a part of what He is doing in these last days! Salvation is always the bottom line.  But don't forget the works which many time set the stage for the Holy Spirit to gain access to a person's heart and draw them unto Jesus.

This is what Mercy in Action International is all about.
