Our Faith
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything we do.
Statement of Faith
Mercy in Action International is a Christian organization. Our faith in Jesus Christ is not merely a label — it is the driving force behind every meal served, every child educated, every church planted, and every life touched by our ministry.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the ultimate authority for faith and practice. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of humanity, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No amount of good works can earn salvation — it is a free gift from God to all who believe.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth, called to worship God, make disciples, and serve the poor and marginalized. We believe in the Great Commission — the command of Jesus to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”— John 3:16 (NKJV)
Why Faith Drives Our Work
We do not serve the poor simply because it is a good thing to do. We serve because Jesus commanded us to. We feed the hungry because He fed the hungry. We care for orphans because He calls us to defend the fatherless. We preach the Gospel because He told us to go into all the world.
Our humanitarian work and our evangelistic work are inseparable. We believe that meeting physical needs opens doors for the Gospel, and that the Gospel transforms lives in ways that no amount of material aid ever could.
Every child at MCDC hears the Gospel. Every Maasai boma we visit hears the Gospel. Every community we serve in Serbia and Pakistan hears the Gospel. This is not an afterthought — it is the heart of who we are.
