MINISTRY UPDATE
FEB. - MAR. 2011
KENYA, AFRICA

Dear Partners:

I John 1:5 “And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God Is light and in Him there is no darkness at all”.

John 8:12 Jesus spoke to them saying, “I am the light of the world; He who follows me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life”.

LIGHT AND DARKNESS ARE EXTREME OPPOSITES!
Physically you can be in the darkest place on earth and light one match and the light will dispel darkness. You cannot however, muster up enough darkness to put out even the smallest light.

More importantly, the same is true spiritually. The powers of darkness can always be overcome by walking in the victory Jesus bought and paid for when He rose from the dead, having conquered death, hell and the grave (powers of darkness).  Never forget, when you are facing challenges in your life, put your faith and trust in Jesus, the Light of Life to deliver you from the powers of darkness!

Now here are some highlights of our Feb/Mar. 2011 trip to Kenya:

MATHARE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (MCDC)
The first girl's dormitory room ever was opened on July 11, 2010 with 20 high risk MCDC girls. As of now it's maxed out with 25 girls who call it home. Momma Jane calls it her “RESCUE CENTER” and that it is. Two of these little girls have been raped, several have lost their parents to aids and the stories go on.
Momma Jane needs our help with this one as its costing about $40 per month per girl above and beyond the schooling, feeding, medical and uniforms.

tin locker box for personal
items and clothes.
This is Naomi, the girls house mother or matron. She is an
orphan herself so she relates to the girls in a very special way.

Here the girls are trying on their new hats, day dresses & pajamas, made by partners in Arizona churches.

2) Equally exciting is the first ever boy's dormitory building which was constructed and opened last fall for 15 high risk MCDC boys. All of these boys came in from off the streets of Mathare Valley slum.

Construction at the new MCDC campus is ongoing as monies come in. Below is the kitchen/ Dining hall building upon which the second story walls have been added.

MAASAI BUSH MINISTRY
From MCDC in Nairobi, Ruby and I went to Mike and Marigold Cheshier’s “Namelok Enkare” Camp and Maasai Conference Centre in the bush. Here we participated in a 3-day Maasai “Conference on the Holy Spirit” and Maasai Village Ministry.

MINISTRY NEEDS

1) Pray the Nairobi city officials will give the go ahead for construction of the first new classroom building at the new MCDC campus.
2) Please consider helping with the expenses incurred for bringing the first 15 MCDC boys in off the streets and into a live-in dormitory building at MCDC. This is their home.
3) Thank you for helping to build Maasai churches in the bush at $3,000 each. Monies for 2-more just came in. 14-more are needed.
4) Please consider helping us buy more Maasai Bibles. We have placed an order for 5,000 more at $2.25 each.
5) We still need sponsors for about 400 MCDC students at $25 per month for K-8th and $35 per month for 9th-12th grades.

Thanks to each of you who partner with MIA.

As always, Ruby and I pay all of our travel expenses so your dollars go directly to the ministry.

HE is Risen!
